May 28, 2009: Day 27

George is really liking Kansas so far. The roads are nice and wide, people are really friendly, and its flat (but windy, so far its always been a head wind) and green with lots of cattle. We spent the night in a cabin at Cross Timbers state park. The cabin was right on the water, with great views. It gets the best place we stayed during our bike tour award (its not over yet, may be another place will beats it). The kicker, however, was that they do not provide pillows, sheets or towels. So, we used the silk saks to sleep in (for the first time) and made do for the rest of the stuff. Surprisingly, great food and ambiance at the only restaurant in the town, Courtney's Devine Pizza and Pasta. I got on my bike once for a short ride only, not going too far too fast with that.
